The Forbes World's 100 Most Powerful Women for year 2006 is out. The ratings are measured based on Visibility and Economic Impact

The top spot goes to 1. Angela Merkel, the German Chancellor
Hailing from a communist east germany, its a great feat acheived by this lady to rise to this level and head the biggest economy of Europe

2. Condoleeca Rice - US Secretary of State

This lady got the best dressed politician award from some lifestyle magazine

3. Wu Yi - Chinese Vice Premier

Infact i have never heard about this women, till it came in the list ( felt so dumb in world policitics)

4. Indra Nooyi - Pepsico CEO

she was no.29 last year, when she was CFO of pepsi. The only indian-born to make it to the top 10 of this list

Another indian ( not indian-born though) is Sonia Gandhi in number 13

Oprah Winfrey, Hillary Clinton , Margret Beckett are well behind the Congress Party President

and the US First Lady, Laura Bush could make it only in the top 20

I am juz thinking, how difficult it will be for husbands, who live in the shadow of such power ladies...?? You can read the complete survey results here in Forbes website.
